Missions

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:19

Our Missions Vision is to glorify God and advance His Kingdom. We do this by raising up, sending out, and supporting local and international mission workers who demonstrate the love of Jesus.
Goals that help us accomplish this vision are:
– To identify, prepare and send out those from the local body who have expressed an interest in serving on the mission field
– To be faithful supporters and a guide to those we have on the field, whether they are sent, financially supported, or simply encouraged by Brighton Christian Church
– To partner with nationals whose goals align with ours
At BCC, we believe that every Christian has a mission calling at some level. Therefore, we provide and encourage participation in classes, training opportunities and short term mission trips. Through these activities each person can grow in their knowledge and desire to serve God to their greatest potential.

20% of the general fund income of the church is designated toward the mission budget.

Thailand-Ridgley

Walter and Jeannette Ridgley
Serving with North Burma Christian Mission

The Ridgely’s have been serving in Southeast Asia (Thailand and Laos) under the auspices of North Burma Christian Mission for 46 years. They actually met in Thailand as Jeannette is the daughter of missionaries, Eugene and Helen Morse.  They have just celebrated 42 years of marriage and have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

Over the years, they have served in many different missionary roles including prison ministry, rural church planting, mobile leadership training programs and did creative access missions in a closed communist country drilling water wells and doing community development.  They are currently involved in a Business as Missions (BAM) outreach platform to reach and disciple people in the workplace. They have a car business with 18 employees and through that business have led several people to Christ and started a house church.  They are also working closely with two traditional growing church plants and have just recently started a third. Walter teaches regularly and preaches in these churches as well as serve in an advisory role.  They also serve on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship Thailand (CEF Thailand).  This outreach regularly goes into Thai public schools and shares the Gospel, trains church volunteers for children’s programs and does various neighborhood outreaches and camps.
The Ridgley’s association with Brighton Christian church began in 1985 when they were planting a church in a remote part of Thailand. The former pastor of BCC (David McFadden) met the Ridgley’s at that time and shortly after started supporting their work. BCC has been a faithful supporter and partner of the Ridgley’s work for nearly 40 years.  The Ridgley’s home church is First Christian Church, Yuma, Arizona.

Southeast Asia

Serving with Frontiers

Our missionary lives and works in Southeast Asia, but because of the potential problems in the area, we do not give a name or a specific location.  Our missionary is working with young adults, and is involved in several areas of evangelism.

Ethiopia

In recent years, several  people from BCC have traveled to Ethiopia where they have ministered the Gospel of Jesus Christ through children’s ministry, women’s ministry,  the Jesus Film Project, church planting efforts, by sharing the word of God, by supporting national evangelists and by conducting medical clinics.

In 2004, it was decided by the elders to help rebuild the church in Arba Minch that had been burned by Orthodox extremists.  Over the past several years, we have partnered with the Full Gospel churches of Arba Minch and Jinka to help with their efforts to evangelize in the villages surrounding those towns.  We have given funds to help in the building of homes for the evangelists in Jinka so that they may be released to do full time ministry.
